Check us against ten points
Whichever class you consider, ask these ten questions. We are happy to answer every one of them.
| What to check | Why it matters | Ask this |
|---|---|---|
| GSEB textbook coverage | GSEB papers follow the Gujarat Board textbooks chapter by chapter. | Do you teach strictly from the GSEB textbooks? Is there a practice set for every chapter? |
| Medium of teaching | A child learns fastest in the language they think in. | Which medium is used: Gujarati, English or both? Can it match my child's school? |
| Objective and descriptive practice | Papers mix MCQs with written answers. Both need practice. | How do you practise MCQs and long answers? |
| Batch size and attention | Large batches let weak chapters slip through. | How many students per batch? Will the teacher know my child's weak chapters? |
| Regular tests with feedback | Tests show gaps early, but only if reviewed. | How often are tests held? Do we get feedback? |
| Doubt support | Confusion grows when it waits. | What happens when my child is stuck outside class time? |
| Exam-year planning | Class 10 and 12 have fixed exam months, so the year needs a plan. | How do you plan revision before school preliminaries and the boards? |
| A real demo class | Seeing a class beats any brochure. | Can my child attend a demo before I decide? |
| Clear fees and timings | Surprises later break trust. | What is included? Do the timings fit school hours and travel? |
| Honest claims | Toppers and guarantees are easy to advertise and hard to check. | How are your results measured, and can I speak to a parent? |
What GSEB families should know
Board exam timing. GSEB SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) exams are usually held from late February into March. In the 2025-26 session, first-term exams were around September and preliminary exams in January. Your school confirms the calendar, and the timetable is on gseb.org.
GUJCET. For Class 12 Science students who want degree engineering or pharmacy in Gujarat, GUJCET has been compulsory since 2017. Its syllabus is based on the GSEB Class 11 and 12 curriculum, so Class 11 matters too.
Improvement chances. GSEB has allowed Class 12 Science students to take supplementary exams (June to July) to improve. Rules can change, so confirm on gseb.org.
Red flags in any class
- Guaranteed marks or ranks. No one can promise these honestly.
- Topper photos with no way to check them.
- Very large batches with no time for individual doubts.
- No demo class, or pressure to pay in full before your child has seen one.
- Vague answers about fees, batch size or teaching method.
Verify it yourself in one week
The best proof is a class your child has actually sat in.
Shortlist two or three classes
Pick ones your child can reach comfortably.
Attend a demo at each
Take your child. Watch how questions are handled.
Ask the checklist questions
Compare the answers side by side.
Ask your child
The class where they understood the most is usually the right one.
